Their Session: I met up with Paul and Courtney on a winter afternoon in downtown Clinton, NJ for their engagement session. I was excited to visit the Red Mill and have some fun on the bridge! Even though it was chilly, Paul and Courtney were able to snuggle close and have some fun! I can't wait to share some of my favorite images from their shoot, but first, more about their love story!
How They Met: Courtney and Paul met on Plenty of Fish which is an online dating service. They had their first date at Applebee's. Paul said that he forgot his wallet in the car and had to go get it. Courtney said she was afraid he was going to ditch her and stick her with the bill, but of course he didn't!
The Proposal: I just love how sweet and thoughtful Paul was with his proposal! Here is what Courtney shared, "He took me to one of our favorite resorts in the Poconos for the weekend. He had the room set up with rose petals and candles, but I still didn’t realize what was going on. We had a great time at dinner and a comedy show. We stayed up late talking and laughing. Right before we went to bed Paul got really nervous and told me he had something for me. He grabbed a box from his coat pocket and got on one knee and asked me to marry him. The most special part was that the diamond in my engagement ring belonged to my mom who passed away. Once I stopped crying, he showed me that he had my mom’s engagement ring re-set with an emerald - her birthstone." AAAHHHHH how cute is that?! Now Courtney can always carry around a piece of her mum! 😭
Their Love: Courtney adores that Paul makes her feel special and loved no matter what. His favorite thing about her is her sense of humor! Paul loves how they can always have fun together. He shared that Courtney's kindness is what made him fall in love with her. While Courtney told me that there were many things that made her fall in love with Paul, she feels that how thoughtful he was and how much he made her laugh was definitely important! A perfect date night for these two would be a walk in the park or by the waterfront, followed by a nice dinner, and topped off with a long drive around. Either that, or Netflix and junk food!
Courtney & Paul: I love how happy and comfortable you two are together. The sense of peace that you've found the one is so evident to those around you! Thank you for spending time with me on a chilly afternoon. I loved getting to see a little bit of Clinton with you two. I'm so excited to join you both at your wedding! 🥰
