Their Session: Speedwell Lake Park in Morristown, NJ
The three of us met on a chilly November weekend in Northern New Jersey to celebrate this growing family! Alyx had reached out to me and was super excited to snag a mini session spot with her fiance Tom and their new puppy Cubby! They wanted to do a couples session with their puppy that they adopted. If you know one thing about me, it's probably my love for furbabies! I was so happy to see these three glowing and brushing off the cold to do some running around with me! I can't wait to share some of my favorite images from their doggo couples session, but first, more about their love!
How They Met: Here’s what Alyx said about how they met; “Tom and I went out with our friends to a bar in NYC. Treadwell park on upper east side. His college friend was my college friends boyfriend. I got pretty silly and accidentally LEGITIMATELY fell down a flight of stairs. Too much tequila. Figured I’d never see the kid again bc I lived on Long Island for grad school and he lived in Hoboken. He left the bar that night and didn’t text me for two weeks hahaha. Needless to say he was making frequent Uber trips to Long Island shortly after! I noticed how cute he was and how he played hard to get.” Ahhh I guess Tom didn’t judge a book by it’s cover! I'm so glad that they ended up seeing past any goofiness!
Their Love: Alyx describes Tom as intense, caring, and giving. She loves that he celebrates her smallest successes. She feels like she can ask Tom anything in the world and he doesn’t think she’s crazy! Alyx said she acted very casual in the beginning of their relationship, but Tom saw right through that and loved her anyway.
Tom describes Alyx as hungry, sarcastic, and intelligent. He loves that she puts so much into their relationship. He loves how Alyx keeps her company on long car rides either in person or on the phone. Tom started to fall in love with her because he felt that it was so easy for them to talk with each other.
They love going out to dinner together, trying new BYOBs, going on walks/hikes, and hanging out at the beach. A perfect weekend day would be waking up early, taking a walk, cooking breakfast, going to the diner for lunch, and grabbing takeout for dinner! Add a little Netflix and napping, and it’s golden! Alyx said she always used to make fun of Tom for wanting to sit at home but now she cannot cherish it enough.
About Cubby: They adopted Cubby from a dog rescue called Cold Nose Warm Heart. They picked that name for her because Tom had a dog named bear growing up and it was too cute to pass up! Cubby is absolutely adorable, especially with her apparent lazy eye that Alyx pointed out! Alyx & Tom: I had so much fun spending time with you for your couples session! I am obsessed with your sweet girl Cubby and she will always be part of my family!
